Tomato – Basil – Spread

This homemade spread tastes great on fresh bread and is also without added sugar. Due to the base of sunflower seeds, this spread is high in fiber and rich in vitamins. With fresh arugula and sun-dried tomatoes, it is a healthy and tangy treat. The spread is quick and easy to prepare, naturally gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan.

Ingredients
 

  • 150 g sunflower seeds
  • 40 g tomato paste
  • 35 g sundried tomatoes
  • 70 ml water
  • 1 tbsp (concentrated) lemon juice
  • 25 g fresh basil
  • 1-2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 tsp onion powder*
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Finely chop the sunflower seeds in the multi-cutter*. Add tomato paste, water, lemon juice and dried tomatoes and continue blending.
  • Now gradually add the basil to the mixture and mix everything briefly.
  • Then refine with sunflower oil and spices and transfer the finished spread into a bowl*. Best to enjoy directly on fresh bread. Enjoy !
